Leftovers of Diamond dot painting

So, among the crafty things I do, is Dimond dot painting. I like how it is nice to get a good result and I find it very relaxing. However, I like many other Dimond dot painters have found there are so many leftover diamonds or drills. So I was thinking of what I could do with them that I would most likely use. Then I remembered that I also do paintings on canvas. The diamonds are shiny and I thought that shinny would be nice on some paintings. So here is my first experiment with it.

Ink markers on a store-bought canvas

This canvas is one I did a few years ago. I used alcohol-based ink markers, and a coloring page simplified and traced onto the canvas. I looked at the leftover diamonds that I had and decided which would best fit. I then picked a few places where I would add the diamonds too. I used Aleene’s original tacky glue. Painted a small area I wanted to put the diamonds on then took tweezers and placed them. I originally tried to use the diamond dot stylist but found it would not let go of the diamonds or when it did they were not in the right spot and I’d have to try and move it around. The tweezers were easier and quicker.

Here is the result. I filled in the central heart with the dark red, while filling the outer light red hearts. I did one diamond at the end of each green curl, both light, and dark green. I liked how it turned out.

I have a few other thoughts on what I will do next with the leftover diamonds but nothing concrete at the moment.
